DDS verse DMD?
DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) and DMD (Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry) are two professional degrees in dentistry that are interchangeable degrees that represent the same high level of dental education and qualifications. Some dental schools award DDS degrees, while others award DMD degrees. The main difference between DDS and DMD is the historical origin of the degree title. DDS originated in the United States, while DMD originated in Europe.

Why do I need an exam and x-rays every year?
Dental cleanings are prescribed by a dentist, much like getting a prescription from a pharmacy where you first go to the doctor for an exam, diagnosis, and prescription. In this case, the diagnosis and prescription are created at your exam appointment. Each prescription expires after 13 months requiring a new prescription.
You may need yearly dental exams and X-rays to detect hidden problems like cavities between teeth or bone loss from gum disease, which are not visible to the naked eye. X-rays can also reveal infections, impacted teeth, tumors, or underlying issues with existing dental work, allowing for early intervention and treatment before they become serious or painful.
What dental services to you provide?
We are able to provide most dental care from dental cleanings to full mouth restorations.
For continuity of care, we try to provide a large variety of dental services in house. However, in the best interest of the patient a specialist may be needed.
Give us a call to see how we can help your unique needs.
Do I have to have an impression will all the goop?
Sometimes, but most time no. We can use a specialized camera called an intraoral scanner. Its fast, painless, and no goop.
Do you place and restore implants?
Yes we place and restore implants.
There are many benefits to having the same doctor do the surgery (place the implant) and do the restoration (crown) as well.
We can restore (add crown) to an implant that we did not place, if we have all the information about the make and size of the implant. However, it is usually simpler and more cost effective to have the implant restored by the doctor that originally placed/prescribed the implant.
